Chelsea Transfer News: Latest Edinson Cavani, Eden Hazard Rumours

Chelsea will reportedly miss out on signing Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani this summer because the French club is already saying goodbye to talismanic attacker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Swede’s departure from the Ligue 1 giants is set to increase Cavani’s importance in the French capital. The player’s agent, Claudio Anellucci, recently made that clear during an interview with Radio Crc (h/t Vaishali Bhardwaj of the London Evening Standard):

After the departure of Ibrahimovic, the club wants to keep what they have, then strengthen to target the Champions League.
PSG can’t get rid of both strikers.
Bhardwaj also quoted PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi telling French radio station RMC how highly he rates Cavani: “Don’t forget that we already have a great attacker at the club – Edinson Cavani.”
Cavani’s place and reputation weren’t always so highly regarded in Paris. Not when playing in the same starting XI as Ibrahimovic often meant operating out wide, away from his preferred centre-forward position.
But Al-Khelaifi is not merely reassuring Cavani. He’ll know how effective the prolific No. 9 can be.
