Jacare on Bisping: The guys I beat are tougher than the ones he defeated

Ronaldo Souza made a huge statement to the rest of the UFC’s middleweight division on May 14th, dominating and bloodying Vitor Belfort en route to a 1st round TKO at UFC 198. For “Jacare,” it’s a bounce back win after a tough split decision loss to the suspended Yoel Romero last December. He was the UFC’s first option to replace the injured Chris Weidman against Luke Rockhold at next week’s UFC 199, but Souza had to turn it down due to a meniscus injury. Michael Bisping has taken Weidman’s spot and will now headline against the reigning middleweight champion.
As Jacare told MMA Fighting, he was ready to accept a short-notice rematch with Rockhold, but the results of his MRI and subsequent surgery rendered him unable to do so.
