Tennis- Fourth seed Garbine Muguruza, sixth seed Simona Halep, 10th seed Petra Kvitova, 2009 champion Svetlana Kuznetsova and 11th seed Lucie Safarova registered straight sets victories to reach the third round of the 2016 French Open Women”s Singles event.
2014 finalist Halep took on Kazakhstan”s Zarina Diyas, who she had beaten in straight sets at 2014 Australian Open and Wimbledon. This time Diyas came close in the first set which was decided by tie-break, but Halep won it 7-5.
