Virginia Cavaliers have successfully defended their last year’s NCAA Division I Men’s Championship after a 4-1 victory over 11th-ranked Oklahoma Sooners at Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa. The Cavaliers have proved once again they are the team to beat in the strongest College Division of men’s tennis, finishing the season with a 30-4 score and showing their best tennis when it mattered the most, losing just 4 points in 6 NCAA matches! This was their 3rd title in the last 4 seasons, taking the most from all the hard work they’ve done over the last couple of years, building an amazing squad of high-quality individuals that operates as a team. The Sooners also had a great run as the 11th seeds, reaching the final for the 3rd straight year but they had no strength to fight harder against the strongest possible rivals. The match was moved indoors after lightning delay, and it started with some close doubles battle. J.C. Aragone/Collin Altamirano had a perfect start for the Cavaliers, beating Andre Biro/Austin Siegel 6-1 on court 3, but the true action was reserved for the courts 1 and 2. Alex Ghilea/Spencer Papa has leveled the score with a 7-5 triumph against Thai-Son Kwiatkowski/Mac Styslinger on court 2, breaking their rivals …
