Gareth Bale Talks Real Madrid vs. Atletico Ahead of 2016 Champions League Final

Gareth Bale has stoked the fires ahead of Real Madrid’s UEFA Champions League final showdown with Atletico Madrid, as he believes no Atleti players would get into Real’s team.

He made the bold claim to Spanish radio station Cadena COPE’s El Partido de las 12 (h/t Goal’s Chris Davie): “To me, no Atletico player would feature in Real Madrid’s team.”

Los Rojiblancos finished just two points behind their bitter rivals in La Liga this season and will look to avenge their 2014 Champions League final defeat to Real—in which Bale scored—in Milan on Saturday.

Atletico goalkeeper Jan Oblak might have something to say about Bale’s claim after a magnificent season, in which he equalled a record in La Liga, per the Champions League:

Captain Diego Godin is also a key component in the side’s rock-solid defence, and he too would likely make a combined XI of the two teams.
