NEW YORK — Russell Martin signed a five-year contract with the Blue Jays to be the everyday catcher, but he’s had a surprising amount of work in the infield during his time in Toronto.
Martin made a surprise appearance at second base during Tuesday’s 6-0 loss to the Yankees. It was his second time playing the infield this season, and his fourth since joining the Blue Jays prior to the 2015 season.
