Teheran notches 4-K inning in dazzling start

ATLANTA — Julio Teheran experienced the rarity of notching four strikeouts in one inning Tuesday night at Turner Field. Unfortunately for the Braves hurler, he was also reintroduced to the all-too-familiar frustration as many of his strong efforts over the past month have gone unrewarded.
Teheran recorded a career-high 12 strikeouts and allowed just one run over seven innings, providing further reason to believe he has regained the successful form that he routinely displayed in 2013 and ’14. But his effort was not enough to prevent the Braves from falling to 2-18 at a home with a 2-1 loss that was decided when Brewers second baseman Scooter Gennett singled off Bud Norris in the eighth inning.
“He threw seven really, really strong innings,” Braves interim manager Brian Snitker said. “I’d just like to see him get rewarded for it.”
