NCAA Women’s Golf Championships 2016: Tuesday Results and Leaderboard Standings

The finalists are set for the 2016 NCAA Women’s Golf Championships after two rounds of match play whittled down the field from eight schools to two on Tuesday.

The defending national champion Stanford Cardinal will meet the Washington Huskies in Wednesday’s final round of golf from Eugene, Oregon.

While the tournament started with 24 schools playing 54 holes of stroke play, the remaining schools in the quarterfinals and semifinals participated in match play. 

Two golfers from each school match up and earn a point for every hole they win, and the player who wins each of the five matchups between the two schools earns a point for her team. For the full leaderboard, click here.

Stanford managed to get by South Carolina thanks to the heroics of Mariah Stackhouse and Lauren Kim, who won the last two individual matches with the Cardinal trailing 2-1.
