Bengals QB McCarron, wife, welcome baby boy

The 2034 Alabama recruiting class may have its first member.

AJ McCarron, a current Cincinnati Bengals backup quarterback and ex-starter on two national championship teams at Alabama, tweeted Tuesday night that his wife Katherine McCarron had just given birth to a “long” baby boy. The couple named the baby Tripp.

McCarron had said earlier this month that he and his wife, the former Miss Alabama and Sports Illustrated model, had been expecting the baby’s arrival to fall sometime between Monday or Tuesday. Because of that, he spent Tuesday back home in Mobile, Alabama, with his growing family, instead of participating in the Bengals’ start of organized team activities (OTAs).
