South Africa´s wheelchair tennis junior team delivered a strong performance on Day two of the BNP Paribas World Team Cup at the Ariake Colosseum in Tokyo, Japan with a 2-1 defeat over Russia.
Lesha Shuklin had given the Russians the advantage with a 2-6 6-3 6-3 win over Ian Snyman but world number three Alwande Skhosana dug deep and pulled off a 6-0 6-0 win against Sergei Lysov to level the tie at 1-1. Both Skhosana and Snyman joined forces following their singles rubber on court for the doubles and the duo made quick work of dispatching Shuklin and Lysov 6-2 6-3 to emerge victorious and clinch the tie 2-1.
