Houston Texans star receiver DeAndre Hopkins signed an agreement Tuesday to partner with adidas and be the headlining promoter of the sportswear company’s football adizero franchise.
Matt Young of the Houston Chronicle reported the news of the multiyear contract and featured comments from Hopkins on the high-profile endorsement:
adidas has built a ton of energy with their combination of innovation and style and I wanted to partner with them to help build on this momentum. I felt this was the perfect fit for me because adidas is already known for speed and I am excited about the potential to get involved with their work in fashion and culture – such as helping to bring a ‘cleathead’ culture to life.
Hopkins is coming off a monster 2015 campaign in which he ranked third in the NFL in receptions with 111 and third in receiving yards with 1,521 to go with 11 touchdowns.
