Thornton eyes landmark success

Andrew Thornton will clock up more than 700 miles on Wednesday in a bid to inch ever closer to achieving his lifetime quest of riding 1,000 career winners.
The 43-year-old, just eight away from joining the elite band of jump jockeys to have reached the four-figure landmark, has three rides, all for Wiltshire trainer Seamus Mullins.
His pilgrimage will take in Market Rasen, where he has two rides – Miss Sassypants in the 32Red On The App Store Mares’ Handicap Hurdle at 2.40 and Sportsreport in the Market Rasen Handicap Chase at 3.50.
