B.J. Penn on USADA violation: ‘I had no idea that IV use was banned 365 days a year’

The UFC issued a statement late Monday night stating that former lightweight and welterweight champion B.J. Penn had been removed from his return fight against Cole Miller at UFC 199. The reason? A USADA violation due to using an IV of over 50ml in a six-hour period back in March.
In response, Penn quickly issued his own statement through his website, BJPenn.com:
