Sharks Ready to Bounce Back in Game 5

SAN JOSE — The San Jose Sharks have been masters of the quick fix throughout the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs, and they’re confident they can do it again after losing 6-3 to the St. Louis Blues in Game 4 of the Western Conference Final at SAP Center on Saturday.
“We’ve battled through a lot this season,” San Jose center Logan Couture said Sunday before the Sharks traveled to St. Louis. “When we’re pushed, we’ve pushed back. We know in our room we didn’t play well at all [Saturday] night. We made a lot of mistakes that we haven’t been making throughout these playoffs, but Game 5 is a new opportunity for us.”
The best-of-7 series is tied 2-2. Game 5 is at Scottrade Center on Monday (5 p.m. ET; CBC, NBCSN, TVA Sports).
The Sharks have lost consecutive games just once in the playoffs, Games 3 and 4 against the Nashville Predators in the second round. Nashville needed triple overtime to defeat the Sharks 4-3 in Game 4. San Jose responded with a 5-1 victory in Game 5. Then after losing 4-3 in overtime in Game 6, the Sharks won the series with a 5-0 victory in Game 7.
