Moscow Grand Slam’s opening serve Monday at Vodny Stadium Beach Sports Centre

Moscow, Russia, May 23, 2016 – With the US$800,000 Moscow Grand Slam starting here Tuesday morning with qualifying, the leading figures for the FIVB World Tour participated in a media conference at the Vodny Stadium Beach Sports Centre.
Speaking at the mid-day media session prior to the opening session of the international Beach Volleyball event were FIVB technical supervisor Liu Chang and the tournament director Ilya Volodarsky along with Russian coaches Georgiy Ryazhnov (women) and Vyacheslav Nirka (men), and host country players Alexandra Moiseeva and Konstantin Semenov.
“On behalf of the FIVB, I am happy to welcome all of you in Moscow,” said Chang. “It’s not the first time your city has hosted events of such a high level. The organizing team has extensive experience staging tournaments like this, so I do not doubt that the Moscow Grand Slam will be held at the highest level.”
