Tennis- Fourth seed Garbine Muguruza needed 3 sets but 2014 finalist Simona Halep needed less than an hour to reach the second round of the 2016 French Open Women’s Singles event. 2009 Champion Kuznetsova came back from one set down to reach second round.
Fourth seed Garbine Muguruza, who had reached Quarterfinals of French Open in 2014 and 2015, faced Slovakia’s Anna Karolina Schmiedlova. The Slovakian had won just 2 Grand Slam matches in her career and had never won a set against Muguruza in last four meetings, including those at French Open and in Madrid earlier this month.
