NEW YORK — After a pair of starts matched in Mets history only by Doc, Noah Syndergaard took home National League Player of the Week honors on Monday.
New York’s big right-hander hurled two straight games of double-digit strikeouts and no walks this week at Citi Field. On Tuesday, he outpitched Nationals ace Max Scherzer with seven scoreless innings and struck out 10, including Bryce Harper twice. Five days later, he beat the Brewers, fanning 11 in seven innings while allowing only an unearned run.
