It was after a two-hour delay that matches commenced on day two of the French Open on Monday.
Dusan Lajovic became the first men’s player on day two to advance to the second round. Lajovic defeated Denis Kudla in straight sets 6-4, 6-3, 6-3. The Serbian hit 28 winners to the American’s 21 and had 22 unforced errors to his opponent’s 23. Next up for Lajovic is the winner between Grigor Dimitrov and Viktor Troicki. Eighth seed Milos Raonic completed a straight sets win over Janko Tipsarevic to reach the second round. The Canadian won the first two sets 6-3, 6-2, and served for the third set in the 10th game, before he was broken by Tipsarevic to take the set to the tie-break. In the tie-break, it looked like Tipsarevic had a slight upper hand before Raonic clinched it 7-5. In the next round, Raonic will face Adrian Mannarino.Adrian Mannarino needed four sets to defeat Mikhail Kukushkin in their first round match-up. The two players exchanged 12 breaks of serve between them, with Kukushkin converting five of the seven opportunities he had and Mannarino converting seven of the 17 chances he had. Mannarino won 122 points to the Kazakh’s 114 points to reach the second round. Another Frenchman, Jeremy Chardy also notched a four-set win to move ahead in the men’s draw. Chardy defeated Leonardo Mayer 6-4, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2. Chardy had 121 points for the match to Mayer’s 111. He also hit 36 winners and 35 unforced errors to Mayer’s total of 39 winners …
