Premier League champions Leicester City are eyeing a swoop for Arsenal back-up midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, per Steve Stammers of the Mirror.
Leicester head coach Claudio Ranieri will be eager to add experience this summer ahead of the Foxes’ maiden UEFA Champions League campaign and has been urged by former player-turned-pundit Jamie Redknapp to strengthen his squad, per his Daily Mail column.
Per the Premier League’s official site, Ranieri named the same starting lineup on 13 occasions this season, with the team thriving under familiarity. However, the Italian’s squad will now be stretched with the additional European encounters.
Per Stammers, Leicester are interested in recruiting the Gunners wide man, with the England international providing Champions League experience despite his tender age.
The 22-year-old has lost his place in the Arsenal team under Arsene Wenger, with injuries and the emergence of talent at the Emirates Stadium forcing him further down the pecking order—forcing him to miss out on a place in Roy Hodgson’s England squad for Euro 2016.
