Kane, Vardy star for England

Strikers Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy scored to give England a 2-1 friendly win over Turkey at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
Kane gave England the lead after three minutes with a calm finish from 12 yards, despite being played the ball in an offside position, before Hakan Calhanoglu equalised from close range 10 minutes later.
Kane missed a penalty with 20 minutes remaining, seeing his spot kick clip the post and go wide after Vardy had been brought down, but Vardy got the winner himself with seven minutes remaining from close range.
It was Turkey’s first defeat in 18 months, and next up for England is a clash with Australia on Friday at the Stadium of Light, before they complete their Euro 2016 preparation against Portugal at Wembley on June 2.
Roy Hodgson selected Vardy and Kane in a front two in Manchester, while Jack Wilshere started in midfield for the first time in 11 months.
England started fastest, going close through Vardy after he got on the end of Kane’s fine through ball into the area in the first minute.
