Four Defenders Take Their Last Stand At London European Champs Curtain Closer

The last session of finals in London is nigh, Fran Halsall and Florent Manaudou set to get the last stand of defenders off to a sizzling start in the 50m freestyle finals, David Verraszto and Jazmin Carlin the last title-holders from Berlin 2014 to take a stand ahead of the curtain-closing medley relays.
The last morning of heats was a calm affair on the clock, Verraszto checking into lane 4 of the long medley on 4:14.49. Closest to him was newcomer to the Britain Olympic team, Max Litchfield, on 4:15.06, Richard Nagy (SVK) on 4:15.79. The others through: Turrini*, Nevo, G. Gyurta, Osipenko, Makovich.
