Angels can’t overcome O’s HR barrage

ANAHEIM — Chris Davis’ two-run blast in the seventh inning carried the first-place Baltimore Orioles on Friday night as they defeated the Angels, 9-4, in Anaheim.
After the Angels rallied for three runs in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game, Davis knocked a two-run home run off Angels reliever Jose Alvarez just over the glove of left fielder Rafael Ortega. It gave the Orioles the lead for good.
The Orioles received pop early and often against Angels pitcher Hector Santiago, as right fielder Joey Rickard and shortstop Manny Machado opened the game with back-to-back home runs, and designated hitter Mark Trumbo launched a two-run blast before Santiago was ejected for arguing balls and strikes …
