In the final match of the day at Michael D. Case Tennis Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma State Cowgirls confirmed their 4th quarter-final appearance at NCAA Division I Women’s Championship, also the first since 1989! The Cowgirls are 27-4 in this season now and they can be extremely happy with this result, beating the better-ranked school and entering the last 8 after so many years of waiting after some good seasons in the late 80’s. They will now play against another quality opponent, 4th-ranked Ohio State. The match started just the Oklahoma State would want, with 17th straight doubles win for Katarina Adamovic/Vladica Babic, who claimed a commanding 6-1 triumph against Caroline Brinson/Laura Patterson on court 3. Mariana Gould/Ellen Perez responded well for Georgia, beating Maria Alvarez/Kelsey Laurente to stay in touch for always important first point, sending the final action to court 2. Viktoriya Lushkova/Carla Tur Mari took care to deliver the point for Oklahoma State after ousting Silvia Garcia/Kennedy Shaffer 6-4.
