Jason Mercier Notches Four More SCOOP Final Tables

The 2016 Spring Championship of Online Poker is in full force at PokerStars with 39 events in the books heading into Friday.

The series, which initially promoted 55 events broken out into low, medium, and high buy-ins to create a total of 165 different tournaments with a combined $40 million in guaranteed prize pools, has added another event on Monday, May 23 for a total of 56 events of 168 tournaments.

For this article, however, we’ll be focusing on many other winners in this year’s online poker festival.

May 16-17: SCOOP #31-33

United Kingdom’s Conor “1_conor_b_1” Beresford won SCOOP-31-H: $2,100 NL Hold’em [4-Max], $250K Guaranteed for $119,778 after agreeing to a deal with the three other players to reach the final table. Two players from Mexico, Sergi “srxakgirona” Reixach and Pablo “pablotenisis” Fernández, finished in second and third place for $100,294 and $59,672, respectively, while Belarus’ Aliaksei “ale6ka” Boika finished in fourth for $88,778.

The next event, SCOOP-32-H: $5,200 PL Omaha [6-Max,5-Stack], $300K Guaranteed, tripled its guaranteed prize pool with 180 players joining in on the action to generate a huge $900,000 prize pool. Germany’s “BriDge2PaiN” finished on top of a star-studded final table which included United Kingdom’s Talal “raidalot” Shakerchi, Finland’s Ilkka “Bernard-bb” Koskinen, Germany’s George “GeorgeDanzer” Danzer, and Team PokerStars member Jason “JasonMercier” Mercier to claim the top prize of $216,000.

Mercier also appeared on the final table in the next event, SCOOP-33-H: $2,100 Stud Hi/Lo, $75K Guaranteed, once again finishing in sixth place. United Kingdom’s “RunGodlike” shipped this event for $54,390, while Marco “NoraFlum” Johnson claimed the runner-up prize of $37,740.

May 17-18: SCOOP #34-36
