Arlington announces plans for new Rangers ballpark

The City of Arlington announced some terms of a proposal for a new stadium for the Rangers in a news conference on Friday.
On Tuesday, the Arlington City Council will be asked to approve an agreement between the city and the Rangers for a new $1 billion stadium with a retractable roof. The Rangers would begin playing in the stadium no later than 2021, and the agreement would run through Jan. 1, 2054.
The cost of the project would be split 50-50 between the team and the city. The ballpark would be owned by Arlington, while the Rangers would be responsible for designing …
