W2W4: Pittsburgh Penguins at Tampa Bay Lightning, Game 4

TAMPA, Fla. — The Pittsburgh Penguins hold a 2-1 lead on the Tampa Bay Lightning heading into Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals. The Penguins completely dismantled the Lightning in a 4-2 victory in Game 3, so the big question is how Tampa Bay will respond as this best-of-seven series reaches a turning point on Friday at 8 p.m. ET at Amalie Arena. Here’s what to watch for in Game 4.

Major push back: The Lightning were disgusted, collectively, with their performance on home ice in Game 3. They held a team meeting afterward to address the matter and discuss how to avoid repeating it in Game 4. If the Penguins take two games here, then regrouping would be a very tall task for Tampa Bay, especially with the series moving back to Pittsburgh on Sunday for Game 5. The Penguins expect the Lightning’s best effort on Friday.

“We just have to be ready to play from the drop of the puck,” Sullivan said. “We know we’re going to get their best game. We have to make sure we bring our very best. When you’re still playing at this time of year, every team that’s left is a really good team and in order to have the success that you’re looking for, you have to have your very best. That’s what we expect from [Tampa] tonight and we’re going to have to have the same in our room.”
