London Day 5 Finals
Italian training partners Gregorio Paltrinieri and Gabriele Detti met in the middle over 800m freestyle – and it was the 1500m champion that got the edge on the 400m champion: 7:42.33 to 7:43.53.
The bronze provided a perfect match of the 1500m freestyle result: Mikhail Romanchuk (UKR), who spent a month in Ostian training with the Italians this year, finished third once more, this time in a national record of 7:47.99.
