Karma? Bad luck? Jalen Ramsey injury latest setback for Jaguars franchise

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Whoosh. Clank. Thud.
Take your pick of the sound, but it all means the same thing: goodbye to all the positive momentum the Jacksonville Jaguars had gained from free agency and assembling arguably the NFL’s best draft class.
It dissolved almost immediately when news of a small meniscus tear in cornerback Jalen Ramsey’s right knee broke Thursday afternoon. The fifth overall pick will miss time and could need surgery depending on what Dr. James Andrews determines when he examines Ramsey next week.
Ramsey isn’t lost for the season, so the situation isn’t as bleak as it was last year when first-round pick Dante Fowler Jr. tore his left ACL on the first day of rookie minicamp, but it certainly is a soft kick to the midsection. The Jaguars desperately needed something good to happen after nearly a decade of futility and instead got more bad news.
