NCAA committee eyes tweak to timeout rules

The NCAA Men’s Basketball Rules Committee wants to give head coaches the right to call timeouts while their teams are inbounding the ball and, potentially, avoid five-second violations if a player is struggling to put the ball into play, according to a release by the NCAA.

The NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Committee will discuss the prospective approval of the change during a conference call on June 15.
