Medeama defeated visiting Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa 2-0 to overturn a first leg deficit when both met at the Essipong Stadium on Wednesday, to progress to the group stage on the away goal rule. The ‘Yellow and Mauves’ needing to win by a two-goal margin went ahead in the 35th minutes through Malik Akowah from the spot.
