Got a guess on which pitcher has the highest rate of missed swings on his fastball this season?
It’s not Noah Syndergaard, Jose Fernandez or Clayton Kershaw. The answer will surprise you: Oakland Athletics starter, Rich Hill.
Hill got eight swings-and-misses with his fastball in Wednesday’s 8-1 win against the Rangers. His rate dipped a hair after netting eight misses on 24 swings, to 37 percent, but it’s still easily the best in the majors. Vince Velasquez ranks second (29 percent).
