O’s back-to-back jacks set tone vs. Walker, Mariners

BALTIMORE — Mark Trumbo hit his team-leading 12th homer against a Seattle club that traded him this winter as the Orioles evened their series with the Mariners with Wednesday’s 5-2 win.
Trumbo went yard in the second inning off Seattle starter Taijuan Walker, and he was followed by Matt Wieters, giving Baltimore its seventh back-to-back homers already this season. Trumbo had two hits and Wieters had three, with Wieters driving in a pair and scoring twice. Walker allowed four runs (three earned) over five innings, and despite being charged with an unearned run, had several great defensive plays made behind him.
Orioles starter Chris Tillman went 6 1/3 innings and held Seattle — a night removed from scoring 10 runs — to two runs on four hits and trio of walks. He struck out six.
MOMENTS THAT MATTEREDTillman time: In what is becoming a familiar sight this season, the Orioles’ Opening Day starter fired 6 1/3 solid innings. Tillman has posted six consecutive quality starts, and the righty is coming into his own this season, posting a 2.61 ERA through nine games. He struck out six in the 109-pitch outing on Wednesday.
