Albers not concerned about shaky outings

CHICAGO — From Aug. 5 of last season to April 29 of this season, White Sox reliever Matt Albers did not allow a run.
Albers recorded a career-long streak of 30 scoreless appearances covering 33 innings, the longest in franchise history. But in his last three appearances, including his inning in Tuesday’s extra-innings loss to the Astros, he has yielded six runs on six hits over 2 2/3 innings and been handed three defeats.
These are drastically different results, but they are all part of the same short memory for Albers, who shakes off poor starts to be ready the next time out.
“Yeah, it’s a little different, definitely,” Albers said. “I haven’t had that feeling of disappointment in a little while, but I knew it was going to come.
“Over a long season, you’re going to have some little hiccups. So I just try not to change too much. Get back to what I was doing successfully.”
