Indians taking it slow with Brantley’s injury

CINCINNATI — It could be some time before the Indians reveal a timetable for outfielder Michael Brantley’s return to game action. Cleveland is being intentionally vague with his comeback schedule, because the club does not believe a firm target date is necessary right now.
“There’s no timetable listed, because there isn’t one,” Indians manager Terry Francona said on Wednesday. “It’s completely on how he feels. Between Michael and the trainers and myself, we’ll get together and we’ll walk through this thing.”
Brantley, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Saturday with inflammation in his right shoulder, met with Dr. Craig Morgan on Tuesday to have his arm re-examined. Morgan — the surgeon who repaired Brantley’s labral tear on Nov. 9 — identified an impingement and gave the outfielder an anti-inflammatory injection …
