Koehler attacks zone too late in loss to Phils

PHILADELPHIA — Tom Koehler had trouble finding the strike zone during the first few innings on Wednesday afternoon, but after the third, he found his rhythm and salvaged a solid, seven-inning start.
Unfortunately for the Marlins’ right-hander, the damage was done in a decisive three-run third inning that rallied the Phillies to a 4-2 win at Citizens Bank Park.
“It wasn’t enough,” Koehler said. “I had a chance early in the game to shut them down. We had a lead, and I let them back in the third. Too many pitches early on. When you walk that many guys and throw that many pitches, your defense gets on their heels, and your team kind of gets into a lull. It’s hard to have a lot of energy after that.”
