Power-play goals continue Brent Burns’ remarkable season

Brent Burns on Tuesday became the first San Jose Sharks defenseman to score two power-play goals in one postseason game. His six goals during the 2016 Stanley Cup playoffs are the most by a Sharks defenseman in one postseason, exceeding a mark set by Mike Rathje in 1995.
It’s been a memorable campaign for Burns in the regular and postseason — and even during the All-Star weekend.
Lots of goals
Burns scored 27 goals during the regular season, the most by a Sharks defenseman in one season. In the past 20 seasons, only Mike Green (then with the Washington Capitals) in 2008-09 had more goals (31) amongst defensemen than Burns’ total.
