Bruce: I could’ve been sacked

Steve Bruce admitted he could have been sacked if Hull City had been knocked out by Derby County in the Championship play-off semi-finals.
Hull scraped through to the final with a 3-2 aggregate win over Derby despite losing the second-leg 2-0.
No team in the history of the play-offs had ever overcome a three-goal first-leg deficit but Derby came close, courtesy of a Johnny Russell strike and Andrew Robertson own-goal in the first half.
Derby had 55 minutes to force extra time but the hosts regrouped and saw the game out, booking a Wembley date with Sheffield Wednesday on May 28.
