Chargers claim ex-Titans QB Mettenberger

The San Diego Chargers claimed quarterback Zach Mettenberger on waivers Tuesday, the team announced.
The Tennessee Titans had waived Mettenberger on Monday. In San Diego he will be reunited with former Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt, who is now the Chargers’ offensive coordinator.
The Chargers have no clear No. 3 quarterback after Philip Rivers and veteran backup Kellen Clemens. Developmental signal-callers Bryn Renner and Mike Bercovici had been competing for the No. 3 job. Renner was …
