Gregorio Paltrinieri 14:46: Fastest 1500 Heat Ever In Textile Among Men With Clean Slate

World champion Gregorio Paltrinieri produced a sizzling statement of a 14:46.81 for a ticket to lane 4 in the final of the 1500m freestyle to bring the second morning of heats to a swift close at the London Aquatics Centre. That made him the fastest heats swimmer in textile ever among those who never tested positive for banned substances.
Only Olympic champions of 2012, Sun Yang* (CHN) and 2008, Oussama Mellouli* (TUN) have ever swum faster in heats of a 1500m freestyle in a textile suit, Sun on 14:43.25, Mellouli on 14:46.23 in this same pool on the biggest of occasions four years ago.
