Ausmus drapes hoodie on plate after ejection

DETROIT — If Tigers fans wanted more emotion out of Brad Ausmus, they got it on Monday. Detroit’s embattled manager made his ninth career ejection a memorable one, draping his hoodie over home plate after arguing balls and strikes with home-plate umpire Doug Eddings during the series opener against the Twins.
The tirade began with a called third strike to Nick Castellanos to end the fourth inning. Castellanos began arguing with Eddings, but Ausmus intervened to keep his third baseman in the game. As long as Ausmus was on his way out, however, he got his say.
