Rainout messes with Red Sox rotation plans

KANSAS CITY — With rain pouring throughout the day at Kauffman Stadium on Monday, the Red Sox had their series opener against the Royals postponed until Wednesday, when they will play a day-night doubleheader.
The clubs had already been scheduled to play at 2:15 p.m. ET on getaway day, so the makeup came will be played at 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
Red Sox manager John Farrell will start Rick Porcello (Monday’s scheduled starter) on Tuesday. Knuckleballer Steven Wright will stay in line for his matinee start on Wednesday. David Price, originally scheduled to pitch Tuesday, will start the night game on Wednesday.
