Kenneth Dixon’s career point total nearly matches population of hometown

The best way to compare the small-town roots of Baltimore Ravens running back Kenneth Dixon and his prolific career at Louisiana Tech is this:
Dixon scored nearly as many points in college (522) as the population in his hometown of Strong, Arkansas (540).
A fourth-round pick of the Ravens, Dixon is the first NFL player to come from this rural town that lies seven miles from southern border of the state. Strong doesn’t have one stoplight, just a four-way stop at the main intersection.
“It’s a close-knit town where everybody knows everybody,” Dixon said.
According to Dixon, the center of town features a hardware store and one restaurant.
“It’s a little burger place,” Dixon said. “Everybody goes to it because there is really no other place to eat.”
