Alexander gives Royals 3 key innings of relief

KANSAS CITY — After closer Wade Davis suffered his first blown save of the season in a two-run ninth, the Royals headed to extra innings against the Braves on Sunday with only two pitchers remaining in the bullpen: Scott Alexander and Chien-Ming Wang.
Even after pitching the day before, Alexander took the mound in the 10th. He recorded three huge scoreless innings in the Royals’ 4-2 walk-off win in 13 innings at Kauffman Stadium.
