Cymro could be campaigned abroad in search of softer conditions following his solid effort in defeat on his first start at Group level.
After having defied top weight in a handicap at Thirsk last month, the four-year-old gelding turned in a career-best effort when fourth in the Ormonde Stakes at Chester on ground that was quicker than ideal.
Trainer Tom Dascombe said: “It didn’t quite happen for Cymro, but I thought he ran well in the Ormonde.
