Bellator 154 results: Phil Davis trumps King Mo by unanimous decision

The Viacom promotion held Bellator 154 from the SAP Center in San Jose, California. The main event provided fans with the Bellator 142 tournament finale that never was; King Mo Muhammed Lawal took on Mr. Wonderful Phil Davis. Here are the results from the evening:
Phil Davis def. Muhammed Lawal via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27)
The first round was predominantly a kickboxing bout with small gloves however neither competitor inflicted any significant damage. King Mo started the second stanza by securing brief takedown. The action stalled as King Mo was hit below the belt and as the match resumed it returned to the low impact kickboxing match. Phil Davis started using his kicks while Lawal looked for the big shot. The most significant moment of the match came as Phil Davis landed a huge punch in round 3 that wobbled King Mo. Mr. Wonderful immediately followed up with an upper cut and double leg to boot. Davis landed some ground strikes and locked up a Kimora but Lawal scrambled out and ended up in top position. King Mo decided to stand up as time wound down and the fate of both fighters was in the hands of the judges.
