Hot start earns Jackie Bradley Jr. move up the Red Sox’s order

BOSTON — Since he first caught fire back in late April, there’s been some clamor for Boston Red Sox center fielder Jackie Bradley Jr. to get his shot, a bump up from the No. 9 spot in the hitting order.
That wish was granted Saturday, with the red-hot Bradley taking over Dustin Pedroia’s regular No. 2 spot, the elder statesman getting this afternoon’s game off on the heels of last night’s loss. And really, this was almost an inevitability, the way things have gone as of late.
