PITTSBURGH — The Tampa Bay Lightning took an early lead and held on to beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-1 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals Friday night at Consol Energy Center.

How it happened: This game featured just about everything. Let’s start with the Lightning losing goalie Ben Bishop with what appeared to be a left-knee or left-ankle injury.
