Severino headed to DL with mild triceps strain

NEW YORK — Yankees right-hander Luis Severino, who allowed seven runs over 2 2/3 innings during a 7-1 loss to the White Sox on Friday, is headed to the disabled list with a mild right triceps strain. He will not pick up a baseball for 5-7 days.
Severino had just surrendered a long two-run homer to Jimmy Rollins when he was visited on the mound by head athletic trainer Steve Donohue and Yankees manager Joe Girardi, who briefly conferred with Severino before making a pitching change.
