Flores headed to DL with hamstring injury

LOS ANGELES — Wednesday began with adversity for the Mets and ended with another dose of it: Wilmer Flores is headed to the disabled list with a left hamstring injury. The Mets infielder said he injured his leg Monday at Dodger Stadium, and will be inactive beginning Thursday against the Dodgers.
Needing an extra arm to replace starting pitcher Steven Matz, who will miss his next turn in the rotation Saturday in Denver, a Mets official conceded that the team is likely to recall Sean Gilmartin from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Though the Mets had not made either roster move official as of late Wednesday evening, Flores was busy packing his bags after the Mets’ 4-3 win over the Dodgers, speaking with team officials about his route back to New York.
“It’s definitely frustrating,” Flores said. “But what are you going to do?”
