The Facets of Roger Federer’s Participation in Rome Open

From the time he withdrew in Madrid, a week ago, there had been a spate of ‘will he-won’t he’ regarding Roger Federer’s decision to play in Rome. When he finally confirmed his participation, and had a couple of practice sessions before the start of the tournament – unlike in Madrid where he’d cancelled all of them – it seemed like things had finally changed positively in the season, for him.
It wasn’t however so simple, as there were talks of Federer being unsure of playing his Rome opener …
